To support the management of Colombia’s marine conserved areas, the Bezos Earth Fund granted $6.2M to the Herencia Colombia Project Finance for Permanence (PFP). The grant will deliver financial resources and other support to local communities and governments for supporting three areas within the Eastern Tropical Pacific – Malpelo, Yurupari, and Colinas y Lomas. The PFP ensures lasting conservation by implementing strategies that focus on community engagement, sustainable finance mechanisms, policy, and capacity-building of local and national organization.
