Adrienne Schmoeker is the Senior Program Officer for the AI Portfolio at the Bezos Earth Fund, where she supports grantees emerging from the AI for Climate and Nature Grand Challenge and explores how AI resources can accelerate solutions for climate and nature — both through internal innovation and external partnerships.
Adrienne brings a rare breadth of experience spanning the private sector, government, startups, and civil society. Before joining the Earth Fund, she served as Deputy Chief Analytics Officer and Director of Civic Engagement & Strategy for the New York City Mayor's Office of Data Analytics, where she scaled one of the world's most ambitious open data programs. Her work earned national recognition, including an Emerging Leaders Award of Excellence from the American Society of Public Administration.
Across her career, Adrienne has been drawn to early-stage teams — building civic technology programs from the ground up and introducing innovation-driven approaches across sectors. She has held leadership roles in NYC government, Catchafire, NYU's GovLab, Helpful Places, and Urban AI, consistently translating complex technological challenges into actionable strategies for mission-driven organizations.
She is energized by a once-in-a-generation opportunity: applying the most powerful technology of our time to the most urgent challenge facing our planet.
She holds a B.A. in Public Policy Studies from the University of Chicago.
