Nicola serves as the Senior Program Manager, Blue Pacific at the Bezos Earth Fund, where she develops strategies and builds partnerships to advance ambitious marine and climate resilience goals in the Pacific Islands Region. She engages with governments, grantees, and philanthropic partners to identify high-impact opportunities and helps manage the Fund’s growing ocean portfolio.
Nicola brings over 20 years of experience in conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable development.
A Fiji Islander and environmental scientist by training, she spent her first decade working across the Pacific region on conservation and sustainable development initiatives, before spending the next ten years working across sectors and regions around the world. She returned home region in 2023 to focus on building the resilience of the Pacific Islands Region.
She has held senior roles in the public, private, and NGO sectors working on issues ranging from climate resilience to sustainable fisheries and protected area management. She is passionate about bridging global ambitions with local priorities, ensuring that nature protection delivers both ecological impact and benefits for communities on the frontline of climate change.
Nicola holds a Master of Science from Monash University and a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University.
