Digital Communications Manager

Sharnelle Anthony serves as the Digital Communications Manager at the Bezos Earth Fund. In this capacity, she works collaboratively with the digital director and the broader communications team to skillfully convey the narratives of Earth Fund grantees through digital media.

Preceding her transition into the climate change sector, Sharnelle held the position of Digital Director for Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser. Throughout her tenure, she led a team dedicated to sharing compelling stories of residents, disseminating life-saving information, and effectively communicating resources that impacted the quality of life for the District’s 700,000 residents and millions of visitors. Simultaneously, she served as a digital best practice point of contact for over 70 mayoral agencies.

Prior to venturing into local politics, Sharnelle spent five years at Truth Initiative, a public health organization committed to fostering a world free from tobacco and nicotine dependence. During her time at Truth, she worked with the creative, experiential, and digital teams, notably contributing to award-winning campaigns that received recognition such as Emmy, Reggie, and Shorty Awards.

Sharnelle holds a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in public relations from The University of Alabama.
